Kalashikov begins serial supplies of next generation rifles
Russia's Kalashnikov Concern has begun serial deliveries of the latest submachine gun PPK-20 to customers, the president of the group of companies, Alan Lushnikov, told TASS at the IDEX 2023 arms show in Abu Dhabi.
"Currently, work is underway to put the PPK-20 into service. At the same time serial deliveries are being carried out to customers," he said.
Lushnikov mentioned such an important feature of the PPK-20 as the possibility of firing in automatic and single modes using a detachable low-noise and flameless firing device. He also noted that the machine gun had a telescopic buttstock made of impact-resistant polymer that folds onto the right side of the receiver.
Also, PPK-20 is equipped with a diopter sight with an effective range of 200 meters and an original trigger mechanism with a double-sided safety catch, which enables the shooter to switch fire and safety modes on both sides of the weapon.
As the Kalashnikov concern’s press service told TASS on February 20, the concern had begun to supply the PPK-20 to customers.
The PPK-20 was created on the basis of the well-tested Vityaz-SN submachine gun. It has a redesigned trigger mechanism and buttstock, a muffler and a new switch. The weapon passed certification tests in 2020.
