Kamala Harris campaign raises $310 million in July, outpacing Trump

The Kamala Harris presidential campaign has reported a record-breaking $310 million raised in July, a surge of funding attributed to Harris’ dynamic entry into the race.

This remarkable sum has more than doubled the $137 million collected by former President Donald Trump during the same period, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

Trump, who recently survived an assassination attempt and led the Republican National Convention, now trails Harris financially.

According to figures released by both campaigns, Harris and affiliated committees boast a combined $377 million in cash on hand, outstripping Trump’s $327 million war chest by $50 million.

The Harris campaign has achieved a historic milestone, raising over $1 billion with four months remaining until the election. This marks the fastest climb to the 10-figure mark in campaign history, underscoring the immense financial momentum behind Harris.

Harris’ entry into the race has revitalized the financial outlook for the Democratic Party, which had experienced a downturn under President Joe Biden in recent months. The surge in funds comes after a period of financial strain for Biden’s campaign, exacerbated by major donors withdrawing support and a decline in small-dollar contributions.

In May, Trump’s significant fundraising following his hush money felony convictions in New York had eroded the cash lead Biden had established. Biden's performance in the June debate, widely considered poor, led to growing calls from Democratic officials for him to step aside, further stalling fundraising efforts.

The Biden campaign was forced to make substantial budget cuts in July due to the financial shortfall. However, Harris’ candidacy has provided a critical boost, not only reversing the downturn but also creating a formidable financial advantage for Democrats.
