Kazakh president prepares for Moscow visit, major agreements expected

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasised the significance of his upcoming state visit to Moscow, set for November 12, calling it a milestone in Kazakhstan's diplomatic relations with Russia. 

He made the remarks during a meeting with Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding regional cooperation, Caliber.Az  reports per Kazakh media. 

He noted that several important agreements would be signed during the visit, which would positively influence the future of Kazakh-Russian cooperation.

Tokayev also expressed his appreciation for Minnikhanov’s ongoing efforts to bolster relations between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan. He highlighted the successful partnership between the two regions in areas such as mechanical engineering, component manufacturing, and oil and gas chemistry. Particular attention was drawn to the joint investment initiatives involving Tatarstan's KAMAZ and Tatneft, which have been instrumental in fostering economic growth and technological exchange.

In the course of the meeting, Tokayev acknowledged Minnikhanov’s recent visits to the North Kazakhstan and Kostanay regions, where Tatarstan businesses are exploring opportunities for expansion. He reaffirmed Kazakhstan's support for these ventures, underscoring the government's commitment to facilitating Tatarstan’s initiatives in the country.

Minnikhanov, for his part, thanked Tokayev for the warm welcome and reaffirmed Tatarstan’s strong interest in deepening cooperation across various sectors, including business, industry, education, and culture.
