Kazakhstan, Germany extend oil supply agreement through 2026
Kazakhstan and Germany have extended their oil supply agreement until the end of 2026, with provisions to increase monthly exports from the Karachaganak field from 100,000 to 130,000 tons, Caliber.Az reports, citing the press service of Kazmunaigaz (KMG), the operator of Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry.
Chairman of the Kazmunaigaz board, Askhat Hasenov, held a working meeting with General Director of Rosneft Deutschland GmbH, Johannes Bremer.
The discussions focused on the transportation of Kazakh oil to Germany and reflected both parties’ mutual interest in expanding cooperation.
“As a result of the meeting, the current agreement on the supply of Kazakh oil to Germany from the resources of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. was extended until the end of 2026. The agreement also provides for an increase in monthly deliveries from 100,000 to 130,000 tons,” the KMG statement said.
It is noted that in 2024, oil shipments from KMG Kashagan B.V. resources began, followed in 2025 by shipments from Tengizchevroil LLP resources.
In the first nine months of 2025, Kazakhstan supplied approximately 1.5 million tons of oil to the refinery in Schwedt.
