Kazakhstan officially declares Adilet party winner of Kurultai elections
Kazakhstan’s Adilet (Justice) party has been officially declared the winner of the country’s Kurultai elections, securing 110 seats, according to the Central Election Commission’s preliminary results.
Adilet received 71.17% of the vote, while Auyl came second with 6.26%, securing 10 seats, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
Respublica received 5.56% and won nine seats, while the Nationwide Social Democratic Party (OSDP) took 5.11% and eight seats. The Democratic Party of Kazakhstan (DPK) Ak Zhol received 5.21%, also securing eight seats.
The People’s Party of Kazakhstan received 3.11% of the vote, the Baitak Green Party of Kazakhstan 1.07%, while 2.51% of voters selected “Against all”.
The results follow exit polls and a preliminary vote count, both of which had previously placed Adilet first in Kazakhstan’s first-ever Kurultai elections, held on August 23.
