Kazakhstan to release final report on AZAL plane crash after probe concludes
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport said it would publish the final report on the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) aircraft near Aktau once the investigation has been completed, in line with international standards.
The investigation commission continues its work in accordance with international standards and the recommendations outlined in Annex 13 of the Chicago Convention, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media.
"The final report will be made public upon conclusion of the investigation," the ministry said in a statement on May 12.
Officials added that the on-site investigation phase had already been completed, and a preliminary report on the crash had been released on February 4.
On December 25, an AZAL Embraer E190 aircraft travelling from Baku to Grozny crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. The tragedy claimed the lives of 38 passengers, while 29 others, including the two crew members on board, survived.
As of December 30, the flight recorders recovered from the crash site have been sent to Brazil for further examination. Kazakhstan has forwarded the black boxes to Brazil's Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Centre (CENIPA), which will be responsible for decoding and analysing the data.
