Kazakhstan urges nationals to exit Iran as security concerns mount
27 February 2026 19:09
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has urged its citizens to avoid travel to Iran until the security situation stabilizes.
“We recommend that Kazakh citizens currently in Iran leave the country, exercise heightened security measures, remain vigilant, follow local news, and strictly adhere to instructions from local authorities,” the ministry’s statement notes, Tengri News reports.
Kazakh authorities also cautioned citizens to carefully evaluate travel plans to Middle Eastern countries, citing the risk of sudden escalation in regional tensions.
Despite the advisory, Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in Iran remain fully operational, providing support to citizens as needed.
