Khachaturyan's brutal torture of Azerbaijanis heard in Baku court Trial continues

The tortures to which Vagif Khachaturyan subjected Azerbaijanis have been listed.

APA reports that they are specified in the indictment on the criminal case of Vagif Khachaturyan.

The indictment states that in late November 1988, Vagif Khachaturyan came to Khankendi to take a driving test, but came to the police department (former police) of Khankendi, where residents of Meshali village of Khojaly district, Kazimov Mammad Islam oglu and Novruzov Zakir Novruz oglu were being held. Together with 5 other members of illegal armed groups, whose names are unknown to the investigation, he berated them in Armenian and said that Azerbaijanis should be slaughtered.

Then Vagif Khachaturyan began to beat them, inflicting numerous blows to the head and various parts of the body. Asking the question “Whose Karabakh?”, Khachaturyan continued to beat them for not being able to get an answer. Demonstrating a knife, he stabbed Mammad Kazimov in the groin area. Having fallen from the blow, Mammad Kazimov cursed Vagif Khachaturyan in Armenian language. For this, Khachatryan cut his legs and inflicted other bodily injuries, saying “die like a dog, bleeding.”

In addition, on 21 December 1991, at about 20-21 hours, the village of Meshali in the Khojaly district was subjected to intensive artillery fire. Mehraliyeva Rahila Ismayil gizi, a resident of the village, and her one-year-old son, Amil Ali oglu Mehraliyev (born in 1990), together with other villagers, rushed to the forest in freezing weather. After 3-4 hours, when the shelling stopped, they returned home, but Amil Mehraliyev was already dead. The child died of frostbite.

The indictment also disclosed names of Azerbaijani policemen and servicemen killed by Armenians who went to liberate civilians of Meshali village of Khojaly district from the siege.

On December 23, 1991, Khachaturyan and other members of the Armenian armed forces killed those who were trying to rescue civilians from the siege, sent from the police (militia) department of the Aghdam region to the police (militia) department. Junior sergeants Rustamov Hidayat Eldar oglu (August 19, 1970) interfered, Aghayev Faig Alish oglu (born July 6, 1969), military personnel of the 710 (formerly 18110) military unit of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, lieutenant Eyyubov Kamil Baba oglu (born October 13, 1964), Gonagov Musal Mirzaga oglu (July 9 born 1961) and self-defence unit fighter Azimov Tahir Eyyub oglu (born June 28, 1961).

On October 17, the regular court session on the criminal case of Vagif Khachaturyan, accused of committing genocide in Meshali village of Khojaly district as a member of illegal Armenian armed groups, continues in Azerbaijan's capital Baku.
