Kharkiv mayor cites Azerbaijan as key model for Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov has described Azerbaijan as a “key example” for Ukraine in rebuilding cities and modernising urban planning amid ongoing wartime destruction.

Speaking at an event held during the World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13), Terekhov highlighted the importance of sustainable urban development for cities operating under the pressures of war, Caliber.Az reports, citing domestic media.

“We must think about how people will live, work, and provide education for their children under wartime conditions,” Terekhov said.

“The development model and urban planning experience of cities such as Baku may play an important role in the future reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.”
