Kim Jong Un’s sister promoted to new position in North Korea

Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, has been appointed to a new position within the leadership of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

According to the agency, Kim Yo Jong has become the director of a department within the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Previously, she served as deputy director of the Party’s Propaganda and Agitation Department.

KCNA did not specify which department she now leads. However, Bloomberg journalists noted that the appointment represents a promotion for Kim Yo Jong, further consolidating her influence within the party hierarchy.
