Kim Kardashian questions moon landing, NASA hits back VIDEO

31 October 2025 17:00

NASA's acting administrator has hit back at reality TV star Kim Kardashian for questioning the veracity of the 1969 moon landing during her series' latest episode.

Secretary of the Department of Transportation Sean Duffy, who acts as the renowned space agency's acting chief, has taken to X to reject Kardashian's remarks that were broadcast to millions of people on October 30, Caliber.Az reports citing US media outlets.

“Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times! And even better: [NASA Artemis] is going back under the leadership of [President Donald Trump]. We won the last space race, and we will win this one too," Duffy hit back at Kardashian only hours after the episode was aired on the Hulu streaming platform.

During a conversation with US actress Sarah Paulson, who appeared in "The Kardashians" series, the eponymous reality star questioned whether the space mission ever took place while noting her interest in conspiracy theories.

“I’m sending you a million articles with both Buzz Aldrin and the other one,” Kardashian tells Paulson, referring to the US astronaut who became the second person after Neil Armstrong to walk on the moon. Kardashian states that the article included a quote from Aldrin answering a question on the scariest moment of the expedition: “There was no scary moment because it didn’t happen. It could’ve been scary, but it wasn’t because it didn’t happen.”

Following Duffy's clapback on X, a back-and-forth between the two took place on the platform, with Kardashian asking the head of the space agency to elaborate on the interstellar comet dubbed 3I/ATLAS.

At the end of their public chat, Duffy told Kardashian how pleased he was with her expressing an interest in the Artemis mission and invited the TV star to its upcoming launch at the Kennedy Space Centre.
