King Charles III set to travel to US for historic state visit
King of the United Kingdom Charles III and Queen Camilla will undertake a state visit to the United States from April 27 to 30.
During the four-day trip, the royal couple will visit Washington, New York, and Virginia, where they will take part in events marking the 250th anniversary of US independence, CNN reports.
The program includes a state dinner at the White House hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, as well as a ceremonial military parade. Charles III is also expected to hold a separate meeting with the president.
According to media reports, the British monarch will also address the US Congress, which would mark only the second such instance in history.
After Washington, the King will travel to New York for events at the 9/11 Memorial, followed by a visit to Virginia for environmental and community engagements, including a meeting with representatives of Indigenous peoples.
The trip will conclude with a visit to the Bermuda Islands. The visit comes amid reported tensions in relations between London and Washington.
