Knesset protest erupts during Trump address on Gaza deal VIDEO
During US President Donald Trump’s address to the Israeli parliament, two Knesset members attempted to disrupt the speech by holding up a banner reading “genocide.”
The lawmakers, Aymen Odeh and Ofer Cassif, were swiftly removed from the chamber, Sky News reported.
Other members of the Knesset applauded as the two were escorted out, effectively covering the interruption. “That was very efficient,” Trump remarked after the incident, drawing laughter and cheers from the audience.
Aymen Odeh is a Palestinian-Israeli member of parliament, while Ofer Cassif, representing the communist Hadash party, is the only Jewish MP in his faction.
The protest occurred as Trump was commemorating the return of the last surviving hostages held by Hamas since their abduction during the October 7, 2023, attack. Their release marked a significant milestone in the first phase of an agreement aimed at ending hostilities in Gaza.
