Kremlin calls for further explanation on potential US military deployment in Ukraine Following VP Vance’s statement
The Kremlin is seeking further clarification following a statement from US Vice President JD Vance regarding the potential deployment of American troops to Ukraine, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
Thus, Peskov, commented on Vance's remarks, which were articulated by The Wall Street Journal, Caliber.Az reports. He stated that such a position had not been previously articulated by US officials.
“Regarding the interview in the American press, these are new elements of the position; we have not heard such formulations before, and they have not been voiced previously. Therefore, we certainly expect to receive additional clarifications during the contacts we have mentioned,” Peskov remarked, responding to journalists’ questions on February 14.
Vance, in an interview, had stated that the US might send troops to Ukraine if Russia refuses to resolve the ongoing conflict.
