Kremlin comments on absence of Western firms from Russian market
Western companies that exited Russia in recent years are not yet returning, but firms from other countries are showing interest in the market segments they vacated, the Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said during the Eastern Economic Forum.
In an interview with TASS at the forum, Peskov said that discussions about the return of Western businesses were premature. He noted that the companies that left Russia had not come back, but opportunities created by their departure were attracting attention from other international firms, Caliber.Az reports.
Peskov highlighted that vacated market niches rarely remain empty for long, and businesses from other countries are actively exploring these opportunities, particularly in sectors previously dominated by large Western corporations.
