Kurdish party headquarters in Erbil comes under drone fire
A drone strike on April 15 targeted a headquarters belonging to the Iranian Kurdish opposition group, the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), in Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, Karim Parwizi, senior party official told Shafaq News.
Karim Parwizi said the attack struck a location in the Degala area, adding that no casualties were reported. No further information was provided regarding potential damage or those responsible, and local authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
Since the escalation of hostilities between the United States, Iran, and Israel on February 28, the Kurdistan Region has experienced around 650 missile and drone attacks targeting diplomatic facilities, sites linked to Iranian Kurdish opposition groups, Peshmerga positions, oil installations, communication infrastructure, residential areas, and public services, resulting in approximately 16 deaths and around 100 injuries.
