Kuwait airspace remains closed for 55 consecutive days
23 April 2026 08:56
Kuwait’s civil aviation airspace restrictions have now been in place for 55 straight days, a source in Middle East air traffic control services told TASS.
The source said Kuwaiti aviation authorities have extended the closure for at least another 12 hours, noting that the timeframe is provisional and may be prolonged again.
The airspace was shut in late February following the start of a US and Israeli military operation against Iran. Since then, restrictions have been repeatedly extended, according to the report.
Kuwait is currently described as the only country in the Middle East that has not fully or partially restored normal civilian air traffic operations.
