Kuwait arrests 16 in foiled Hezbollah-linked sabotage plot

On March 16, Kuwait announced the arrest of 16 people—14 Kuwaitis and two Lebanese citizens—linked to the Lebanese group Hezbollah, who were planning a “sabotage operation” in this Persian Gulf country, as reported by the French newspaper Le Figaro.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the group “sought to destabilise the country’s security and recruit people to join a terrorist organisation involved in the ongoing war in the Middle East.”

The ministry added that several weapons, drones, and Morse code communication devices were seized.
