Kuwait reveals damage to power lines after missile, drone interceptions UPDATED

Several power transmission lines in Kuwait were damaged by debris from missiles and drones intercepted by the country’s air defence systems earlier on July 8, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy said.

According to a statement posted by the ministry on X, relevant authorities are currently assessing the damage and carrying out the necessary repair work.

Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched strikes on 85 US military facilities in Bahrain and Kuwait in response to U.S. attacks on Iranian territory.

Kuwait’s air defence systems intercepted two ballistic missiles and 13 drones that entered Kuwaiti airspace early on July 8, the country's Armed Forces announced.

According to the Kuwaiti military command, all aerial targets were successfully intercepted by the country’s air defence forces.
