Kuwait power grid knocked out following nighttime attacks from Iran
24 March 2026 12:51
Kuwait’s electricity network was brought down after debris from intercepted missiles and drones damaged seven high-voltage power lines, the country’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy confirmed on March 24.
The ministry posted on X that repair teams are working to restore service as quickly as possible.
The incidents occurred as Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched the 78th wave of its Operation True Promise-4, striking multiple targets in Israel, including Eilat, Dimona, and northern Tel Aviv, as well as US military bases across the Gulf region.
Kuwait reported intercepting several missiles and drones that entered its airspace, which caused explosions during defensive operations.
