Kuwait’s military thwarts Iranian drone, missile wave, official says
Kuwait’s air defence systems have detected and intercepted 394 Iranian drones and 212 ballistic missiles targeting the country since the onset of the ongoing Middle East crisis, Xinhua reports.
Colonel Saud Al-Atwan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence of Kuwait, said the armed forces successfully neutralized the missiles and drones as part of ongoing operations.
Al-Atwan provided the update during a briefing at the Government Communications Centre, highlighting the heightened state of military readiness.
“The Kuwaiti military remains at maximum combat readiness and is conducting round-the-clock monitoring in coordination with other armed and security forces,” Al-Atwan said.
He also confirmed that 67 members of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces sustained injuries in recent incidents. All injured personnel are receiving medical care, with most in stable condition, while two soldiers remain under close observation by doctors, he noted.
