Kyiv: Belarus reinforces position on border with Ukraine, EU countries

Belarus' military is fortifying defensive positions along Ukraine's and EU countries' borders.

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry spokesman, Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, made the remarks, RBC-Ukraine reports.

"According to the Main Intelligence Department, the Belarusian troops are building up a system of engineering and fortification equipment for defensive positions in the areas bordering with Ukraine, as well as with the countries of the European Union," he said.

According to Motuzyanyk, Ukrainian intelligence reports that from June 22 to July 1, the military enlistment offices of the Gomel region of Belarus are conducting mobilisation training.

The Defence Ministry speaker added that the threat of the use of missile weapons by the Russian troops from the territory of Belarus remains.
