Kyiv law enforcement authorities have detained a man suspected of illegally selling weapons and ammunition, which he stored at the hospital where he worked as a driver.
Investigators documented the sale of a Glock 21 pistol for $2,900, a Scorpion submachine gun for $1,800, and a Makarov pistol for $1,900. The suspect was arrested during a meeting with a buyer, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office Telegram channel.
Searches of his home, workplace, and 15 other locations across Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions uncovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition, including hand grenades with fuses, automatic firearms, rifles, and hunting carbines. Authorities said the man had prior convictions for similar offences, with cases currently under review in other regions.
During the investigation, law enforcement also identified another Kyiv resident, whose home yielded eight rifles, 13 grenades, pistols, five automatic rifles, and a machine gun. He has also been charged.
The origin of the seized weapons is currently under investigation.
