Kyiv receives additional €6 million from Australia for energy security
Ukraine has received €6 million in grant assistance from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, raising Australia’s total contribution to €24.5 million, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine confirmed.
“The funds will be allocated to finance the priority needs of the energy sector, taking into account current challenges in energy security,” said Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.
Earlier contributions from Australia have enabled Ukraine to procure transformers of various capacities, complete transformer substations, autotransformers, microprocessor relay protection terminals, and other critical energy equipment.
These acquisitions have bolstered the reliability of the country’s transmission and distribution networks and supported the restoration and strengthening of its energy infrastructure.
