Kyiv says monthly US missile deliveries agreed, volumes unclear

08 August 2026 16:12

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine has reached an understanding with the United States on the monthly supply of interceptor missiles for the Patriot missile system, but warned that the volumes fall short of the country’s air defence requirements.

Speaking to reporters alongside Aleksandar Vučić, Zelenskyy outlined ongoing efforts to secure additional support from Washington.

"In which directions can this problem be solved? First of all, who has anti-missile systems? The manufacturer, that is the United States. Can they help? We are working on it.

Will they allocate us missiles every month — yes, we have an agreement.

Are these missiles enough? In 2026, I have already said this... these missiles will become fewer in 2026."

Zelenskyy did not disclose the expected monthly volume of missile deliveries, and it remained unclear whether he was referring to a newly concluded arrangement or an extension of existing agreements.

Kyiv and Washington have previously agreed on the provision of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, although the terms and any fixed delivery schedules have not been made public.
