Kyrgyz citizens gain easier access to China under new visa rules
Starting August 20, Kyrgyz citizens can take advantage of two new visa-free travel arrangements for trips to China — 240-hour visa-free transit and visa-free entry to Hainan province for up to 30 days, according to a statement from China’s National Immigration Administration.
Holders of ordinary Kyrgyz passports can use the 240-hour visa-free transit regime through 65 designated entry points, including airports in Beijing and Shanghai, Caliber.Az reports.
Travellers must have a confirmed ticket to a third country or region to qualify for entry. The maximum permitted stay is 10 days.
In addition, Kyrgyz citizens can now enter Hainan province visa-free for up to 30 days. The new regime allows visitors to travel to the island for tourism and business purposes, as well as for private trips and family visits.
However, those travelling to China for employment, education or journalistic activities must still obtain the appropriate Chinese visa in advance.
