Kyrgyz envoy presents credentials to Trump at White House
Kyrgyzstan’s new ambassador to the United States, Edil Baisalov, has formally presented his credentials to US President Donald Trump during a ceremony at the White House, the Kyrgyz Embassy in Washington said.
According to the embassy, the presentation took place on May 21, Caliber.Az reports per Kyrgyz media.
During the meeting, Baisalov conveyed greetings and best wishes from Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov and reaffirmed Bishkek’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and the United States.
“The ambassador said that Kyrgyzstan appreciates the support provided by the United States since the country’s early years of independence and expressed gratitude for the U.S.’s consistently high priority on cooperation with Central Asia and the region,” the statement said.
President Trump welcomed the new ambassador and expressed readiness to further develop bilateral ties. He also emphasised the importance of friendly relations between the peoples of both countries and voiced confidence that Baisalov’s tenure would help deepen political and economic cooperation.
