Kyrgyz president proposes unified visa for Central Asia similar to Schengen

On March 13, 2025, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov proposed the introduction of a unified visa for Central Asian countries, similar to the Schengen visa.

In a statement on Facebook, Japarov suggested that Central Asian nations begin the process of implementing a visa-free regime among themselves, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

He also proposed a single visa for foreign visitors, which would allow them to travel freely across all countries in the region.

This proposal came in the wake of the completion of the border demarcation process with Tajikistan.
