Kyrgyzstan begins preparations for Xi Jinping’s state visit
Kyrgyzstan is preparing for a state visit by China’s President Xi Jinping, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev announced on January 15 during a press conference in Bishkek.
Kulubaev underlined the strong level of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and China, stressing that the past year had been marked by numerous important bilateral contacts.
Among them were President Sadyr Japarov’s state visit to China, as well as engagements held on the sidelines of the “Central Asia–China” format and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit.
According to the minister, 2026 will also be an active year in the bilateral agenda. He noted that Xi Jinping’s upcoming state visit will be one of the key events of the year, with a program expected to be substantive and to cover a broad spectrum of cooperation issues.
