Kyrgyzstan changes entry rules for foreign nationals

Kyrgyzstan has changed its entry rules for foreign nationals, introducing restrictions on re-entry for those who overstay their permitted period in the country.

Foreigners who exceed the authorised length of stay will be denied re-entry for a period corresponding to the applicable visa-free stay limit. The duration of stay will be calculated automatically by the Unified External Migration Accounting System, Caliber.Az reports via Kyrgyz media.

An exception will apply to foreign spouses and minor children of Kyrgyz citizens. They will be allowed to enter the country once to legalise their status and will have 30 working days to complete the necessary documentation.

Foreign nationals will also be able to apply for a residence permit in accordance with Kyrgyzstan’s migration legislation. Moldova has additionally been included in one of the relevant country lists.
