Kyrgyzstan commissions its first solar power plant in Kemin VIDEO

Kyrgyzstan has officially commissioned its first-ever solar power plant in Kemin, marking a significant milestone in the country’s renewable energy development.

The ceremonial opening was attended by President Sadyr Japarov, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

The new 100-megawatt facility spans 230 hectares and was implemented with the participation of a Chinese investor, with total investments amounting to $56 million.

Speaking at the ceremony, President Japarov highlighted the strategic importance of renewable energy.

"The development of renewable energy sources—solar and wind—is an important area of the country’s energy strategy, alongside the construction of hydroelectric power plants."

He added that the commissioning of the solar power plant heralds a new stage in the development of a modern, sustainable, and diversified energy system in Kyrgyzstan, reflecting the nation’s commitment to expanding its clean energy infrastructure.
