Kyrgyzstan launches evacuation for citizens stranded in Middle East
03 March 2026 16:22
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has announced that 300 Kyrgyz citizens stranded in the Middle East will be evacuated via Oman, Caravan.kz reports.
“Continuous efforts are underway in Middle Eastern countries to evacuate our citizens who cannot return home. Due to the ban on takeoffs and landings in the United Arab Emirates, an agreement has been reached with the state of Oman to operate two charter flights to evacuate 300 people. Women and children will be given priority. We urge everyone to remain calm and exercise patience,” Japarov said on his Facebook page.
The president added that, should permission be granted for flights from the UAE, the remaining citizens will be able to return to Kyrgyzstan within a single day.
