Kyrgyzstan lifts state price controls on AI-95 gasoline

08 July 2026 12:53

The Kyrgyz government has amended regulations governing state intervention in fuel pricing, removing AI-95 gasoline from the list of socially significant goods subject to temporary price controls.

The new resolution excludes AI-95 petrol from the category of products for which the government may introduce temporary price regulation measures, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

The cabinet also removed a provision from a May 25, 2026, decree on stabilising fuel prices that had allowed authorities to set maximum retail prices for fuel.

The changes entered into force on July 7, the date of their official publication.

On May 25, Kyrgyz authorities introduced a mechanism to subsidise oil traders and imposed temporary fuel price controls.

Those measures had been scheduled to remain in effect until Sept. 30, 2026.
