Kyrgyzstan to gain access to Starlink satellite internet service
Kyrgyzstan has completed the formation of its legal framework for the launch of Starlink satellite internet, according to the results of a meeting between Kyrgyz Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev and SpaceX senior director Ryan Goodnight in Washington.
The parties confirmed that all necessary permits have been obtained and legal agreements signed. The technical launch of the service as part of a pilot project is expected in the near future, Caliber.Az reports per Kyrgyz media.
The main goal of the initiative is to provide internet access to remote mountainous regions of the country.
The Kyrgyz government also emphasised that the market remains open to other satellite operators willing to comply with national communication standards.
