Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan enter new stage of strategic partnership
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have entered a new phase of bilateral relations following talks with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Cholpon-Ata.
According to the Kyrgyz presidential press service, Japarov thanked Mirziyoyev for accepting an invitation to pay a state visit to Kyrgyzstan, 24.KG reports.
Speaking after the talks, Japarov said the two leaders held "substantive and trusting" discussions covering the full range of bilateral cooperation, including politics, security, the economy, transport, energy, border cooperation, and cultural and humanitarian ties.
He said both sides highly valued the steady development of relations based on mutual respect, good neighbourliness and strategic partnership.
Japarov also said all sensitive issues on the bilateral agenda had been resolved, marking the start of a new stage in relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
