The Lithuanian Armed Forces have announced that Lithuania will host the "Iron Wolf – 2024-II" international military exercises from October 7 which will last for 10 days.

The exercises will be held at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area and will involve over 3,200 Lithuanian and allied servicemen, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.

Some 700 units of military equipment will be used. The training will focus on planning and executing offensive and defensive operations both day and night, as well as enhancing cooperation among different units.

Besides the Lithuanian forces, the participants from Belgium, the Czech Republic, the US, Luxembourg, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany will also take part in the exercises.

The "Iron Wolf" exercises are conducted annually in spring and autumn to assess the combat readiness of the battalions within the "Iron Wolf" Infantry Brigade and to fully integrate the NATO Enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup.

Residents of several regions in Lithuania have been notified about the movement of military vehicles due to the exercises.

The "Autumn Shooter 2024" evaluation field tactical exercises, organised by the Antanas Juozapavičius 1st Territorial Riflemen Unit, are being held in the Alytus district of Lithuania this weekend.

The exercises codenamed Red Storm Alpha aimed at practicing the protection of critical infrastructure were conducted in the Port of Hamburg by the Bundeswehr from September 26 to 28.
