Largest-ever foreign tour group explores Azerbaijan's Karabakh region
Starting from March 26, an international group of tourists led by Harry Mitsidis, a British-Greek founder of the NomadMania club, began a trip to Karabakh and East Zangezur, Report reports.
The delegation consists of 79 travellers from 37 countries, making it the largest group of foreign tourists ever to visit these regions.
NomadMania ranks 1,301 regions worldwide, and Harry Mitsidis, who has visited all of them, holds the top spot globally. This year, the club held its annual summit in Azerbaijan for the first time.
The trip aims to promote dark tourism and showcase the extensive reconstruction efforts in the region, with the first stop in the city of Aghdam.
Between 2020 and 2026, the world’s major travel clubs organised 15 trips to these territories, with the current visit marking the sixteenth.
