Latvia phases out bus services to Belarus without formal ban
24 January 2026 18:32
Latvia is set to discontinue bus services with Belarus by allowing the operating licenses of bus carriers to expire, a move that will effectively end regular routes without imposing a formal ban.
According to the Telegram channel “Ej”, the Riga–Vitebsk route will be terminated on February 1. Bus services to Minsk are scheduled to end on February 26, while connections to Gomel will cease on June 27.
Rail and air links between Latvia and Belarus had already been suspended several years ago.
