Latvia tightens digital restrictions on Russian platforms
08 June 2026 21:06
Latvia’s National Electronic Mass Media Council has ordered the blocking of eight Russian internet resources.
The decision came into force immediately, with internet service providers instructed to restrict access to the designated websites, Delfi reports.
The blocked platforms include the “Labyrinth” online bookstore, the publishing house AST, the LiveLib service, the regional news portal V1 from Volgograd, as well as several other websites.
In an official statement, the regulator said the content published on these platforms “forms a positive attitude towards Russia” and may pose a threat to national security.
