Latvia to rehabilitate severely wounded Ukrainian soldiers
The Latvian Foreign Ministry has announced the resumption of the rehabilitation programme for seriously wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
On August 15, twelve soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces began a three-week course of treatment at the Vaivare National Rehabilitation Center, Gazeta.Ru reports citing the ministry’s website.
The soldiers’ treatment will be financed through the state programme “Funds for unforeseen expenses”.
The ministry said about 280,000 euros were allocated for the treatment operations.
“The selection of Ukrainian patients, their transportation to Latvia and the provision of rehabilitation services at the Vaivare National Rehabilitation Center are coordinated by the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Welfare and with the support of the Ministry of Defence,” the ministry noted.
