Latvian president: Armenia has chosen its own democratic path
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his election victory, saying Armenia has chosen its own democratic path.
In a post on the social media platform X, he described Pashinyan’s victory as resounding, Caliber.Az reports.

“Armenia has chosen its own democratic path despite threats and intimidation. Latvia stands firmly with you and supports ever closer relations between Armenia and the European Union,” he wrote.
The Armenian Central Election Commission is publishing preliminary results of the parliamentary elections in Armenia, according to which Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party received 49.81% (727,160 votes), enough to form a government on its own.
