Le Monde: Ukraine could face “terrifying” winter

Ukraine could face a “terrifying” winter due to dwindling air defence capabilities, Le Monde reports.

The publication says Kyiv has almost exhausted its stockpile of PAC-3 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, while supplies from the US and Europe remain limited, partly amid the conflict with Iran.

Problems with energy infrastructure, combined with a shortage of air defence systems, could leave Ukraine in an extremely difficult position.

France is currently sending SAMP/T systems to Kyiv, although they are less effective against ballistic missiles.

Le Monde acknowledged the superiority of Russian forces in terms of their strike capabilities.
