Lebanese army sets up checkpoint outside ex-envoy's home
27 April 2026 13:13
The Lebanese Army has established a military checkpoint outside a residential building in the Ashrafieh district of Beirut where former Lebanese ambassador to the United States Simon Karam resides.
The move comes amid speculation that Karam could be involved in leading Lebanon’s delegation in potential direct talks with Israel, Caliber.Az reports, citing Lebanese media.
Karam, an experienced diplomat, served as Lebanon’s ambassador to the United States from 1992 to 1993. Following his diplomatic career, he continued working in the legal sector in Lebanon.
