Lebanon demands Hezbollah surrender its weapons and cease military operations

The Lebanese government has stated that Hezbollah’s military activities are “illegal” and demanded that the group surrender its weapons, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said, “We prohibit Hezbollah’s military activities and limit its role to the political sphere, and we demand that the military institutions enforce this.”

Salam confirmed the government’s commitment to the ceasefire reached with Israel in 2024 and to the resumption of negotiations.
