Lebanon moves to ban IRGC activities, plans to deport members
06 March 2026 11:48
Beirut’s government announced on March 6 that it will ban all activities by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and pursue the deportation of its members from Lebanon, signaling a major shift in the country’s stance amid rising regional tensions.
Information Minister Paul Morcos stated that the cabinet had decided to prevent any IRGC activity on Lebanese territory and to detain members through the judiciary for deportation, Iran International reports.
He also said that Iranian nationals will now require visas to enter Lebanon.
Lebanon had previously stated that it would arrest all members of the IRGC present in the country.
