Lebanon moves to curb Iranian influence, foreign minister says

Lebanon’s government is taking steps to reduce Iranian influence in the country, Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi said during an emergency meeting in Riyadh, Iran International reports.

Raggi warned that Iran’s actions pose a threat to states that have pursued de-escalation, highlighting the risks of ongoing regional tensions.

“The government is proceeding with efforts to free Lebanon from Iranian influence,” he said, adding that authorities would continue taking decisions to protect the country’s sovereignty.
