Lebanon’s top Shiite mufti calls for Saudi–Iranian settlement

Lebanon’s top Shiite mufti, Ahmad Kabalan, has called on Saudi Arabia and Iran to reach a strategic settlement, saying it would help stabilize Lebanon and the wider region.

Kabalan said that the US and Israeli war against Iran “has failed” and stressed that the region needs Saudi–Iranian understanding to prevent further escalation, Caliber.Az reports, citing Al-Akhbar.

According to him, Saudi Arabia and Iran are capable of playing a key role in reducing tensions in Lebanon and across the Middle East.
