Lebanon says death toll from Israeli strikes reaches 2,509
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health said that at least 13 people were killed and 30 others injured over the past 24 hours as a result of Israeli Air Force strikes on the southern parts of the country, despite a ceasefire that took effect on April 17.
In a statement published on X, the ministry said, “The total number of citizens killed since the start of the military escalation on March 2 has reached 2,509, with 7,755 wounded.”
The ministry warned that the toll could rise further as Israel continues intensive bombardments targeting populated areas and infrastructure.
Separately, Lebanon’s Interior Ministry reported that Israeli attacks on the southern province of Nabatieh on Sunday triggered mass displacement, with residents fleeing from affected areas toward the north of the country.
