Life returning: Azerbaijani official highlights Karabakh recovery efforts at WUF13
Azerbaijani President's Special Representative in Lachin district, Masim Mammadov, has highlighted the scale of destruction in formerly occupied territories, saying that cultural heritage and infrastructure were severely damaged over decades of occupation. Speaking at a WUF13 session in Baku, he also pointed to ongoing efforts aimed at restoring life to the region, saying that life is returning to Karabakh.
Mammadov noted that in territories that remained under occupation for nearly 30 years, all infrastructure was destroyed and cities and villages were wiped out, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“Thousands of people were forced to leave their homes. Azerbaijan’s fate changed only thanks to the will of a leader ready to act decisively. Today, life is returning to the region,” Mammadov said.
