Lightweight plane crashes in southern Poland, two killed PHOTO
A lightweight plane has crashed in Poland’s Silesian Voivodeship, killing two people, authorities have confirmed.
The incident took place in the village of Lipowa, within Żywiec County, Caliber.Az reports.
Initial reports were received by RMF FM radio and later verified by local officials.
Tomasz Kołodziej, a spokesperson for the State Fire Service in Żywiec, said the emergency call was received at 09:36 local time (11:36 Baku time).
Preliminary information suggests the aircraft suffered a failure during landing for unknown reasons, causing the crash. The bodies of both occupants were recovered at the scene.
Emergency services, including six fire crews, police, and the prosecutor’s office, remain on site investigating the incident.
